A new lineup of Plant-Based, Gluten Free Chick’n & Beefy products hits the Australian market / Unreal Co.
I was scrolling through my Instagram last night and stumbled across some exciting news that I had to share.
A new Australian, Plant-Based company by the name of Unreal Co. has recently released a range of plant-based ‘meat’ products and what’s even more exciting for us Gluten Free Vegans…is YES they’re not only Vegan BUT also Gluten Free. Hoorah!
Btw I’m not sponsored but I just got so
Unreal Co. announced on their Instagram on 25th March 2019, that the new range is now out and being stocked on Woolworths shelves. The plant-based products are also available at selected IGA’s, Flannery’s, Go
So just WHAT exactly is in this new range you may ask?
There’s 4 choices in the Chick’n range – Fried Chick’n pieces, Chick’n Burger with Southern Spice, Chick’n Nuggets and a Schnitzel.
They also offer 4 Beefy choices with 1 called the Italian Beefy and the other 3 being in ‘The Mighty’ Range including – Original, Italian and Cheesy. I think at this stage the Italian Beefy is what is being offered at Woolworths and the others at selected retailers.
Last but not least, they also offer a pizza range although I think it’s only available in selected stores and not Woolworths at this point but still worth keeping an eye out for.
What’s also exciting to see is that the price is comparative coming in between $5.30-$6.30 for a 2 pack when purchased from Woolworths. (I’m not sure of the prices elsewhere) making it reasonably affordable to include in the plant-based diet.
In doing a little more research about Unreal Co. I discovered on their site the following statement:
“UNREAL CO. is Australia’s new designer of premium plant-based foods. The company was founded on the principles of compassion and sustainability
Unreal Co. belongs to a group of self-funded companies. We specialise in fast: research, development, prototyping and manufacturing, of allergen-aware and gluten-free plant-based foods.
We are leaders in the field of vegan food innovation. Our team consists of engineers, food scientists, artisans, marketers, and manufacturing specialists.
Our vision is big, and our goals are even bigger!”
So there you have it. It’s nice to see that Australian companies are starting to wake up to the demand for more Vegan, plant based products and all this writer can hope is that they also continue to make products that are allergy friendly as well.
I went to my Woolworths tonight and bought the Fried Chick’n Pieces and the Chick’n Scnitzel. In future I will post a review of what I think of the taste.
In the meantime let me know, has the new Unreal Co. range reached your supermarket? Have you tried it yet? What did you think?
