Tuscan TVP Meatballs
Today on Gluten Free Aussie Vegan I’m going to share with you a recipe for ‘meatballs’. What is the main ingredient that I am going to be using? It’s Textured Vegetable Protein aka TVP. TVP is where the protein has been extracted from soybeans and it looks like dried flakes which when you add liquid to them they readily absorb the liquid and swell to resemble and taste like something similar to ground beef. I discovered this a few months ago and have loved experimenting with it. TVP itself doesn’t have a strong flavour in my opinion. So what I love most about TVP compared to other ‘minced beef’ alternatives…

Vegan Millet ‘Meat’ Loaf – Gluten Free
Tonight in the Gluten Free Aussie Vegan kitchen I was craving some meat loaf….well, not actual meat but the flavour of loaf and a few months back when I was looking up recipes for using Millet (my new favourite grain) I came across a recipe for a vegan Millet loaf. WELL, tonight was the night to try it out and I was most definitely not disappointed. I made a couple of tweaks from the original recipe I found and I may add future tweaks when I make it again but they will be minor cos THIS was so delicious. The texture of this Millet Loaf isn’t as firm as what…

Thanks for stopping by Gluten Free Aussie Vegan. Today I would like to share with you a Goulash I made a couple of weeks back. If you are in the mood for something warm and hearty and with a rainbow of vegetables then this dish is for you. It’s so satisfying and like a warm belly hug. Elote – Mexican style Street Corn
So I’ve come across this recipe on google and pinterest and seemingly all over the place and every time I see it i think OH I have GOT to try that. The colours really call out to you, the red, the yellow. It just looks vibrant and juicy to me. So I finally tried it and it is my newest food addiction. SO GOOD. What I love about this is that it is relatively simple and quick to prepare and only needs a few ingredients but the flavour is like BAM. I also made the Vegan Parmesan from scratch (naturally Gluten Free) which I will link the recipe for it…

Savoury Vegetable Cheesy Rice Bake – VEGAN & GLUTEN FREE
So this recipe comes from my teenage years. I loved to cook even as a young teenager and had a kids Cook book that I loved. All these years later I still love the recipe but now I’m Vegan I had to make slight modifications with the main one being swapping out the dairy cheese for Vegan cheese and voila delicious. This recipe uses ingredients that you will usually have stocked in your cupboards, it’s not hard to find except maybe the cheese you like but it’s simple and easy to make and is delicious. Vegan Rogan Josh – Gluten Free
So I love a good curry and I don’t mind chickpea curries and I’ve even enjoyed vegetable curries, you know where the ‘meat’ swap might be pumpkin, cauliflower or Sweet Potato…but I have to admit I have missed having a curry where there is something with that meaty, chewy consistency and it’s not always easy to find Vegan replacements that are also Gluten Free as so many of the faux meats have wheat. Well I missed it UNTIL I was watching a recipe on The Happy Pear channel and spotted this little ripper of a recipe for Rogan Josh. Not only does it have Chick Peas in it but…

Marinated Satay Tempeh served Two ways
Ok I admit it, this Gluten Free Aussie Vegan is guilty of being a little bit obsessed with Tempeh lately. I’d never eaten it up until a few weeks ago when I first tried it in a Vegan Gyro I made. I loved the marinade I used in that recipe, loved the flavour and texture of the meaty Tempeh so I was curious to see what other marinades would work well with it and stumbled across a ripper of a recipe for Satay Tempeh. The original recipe just had the Tempeh by itself but I had thought it would be cool if I could try it in a Summer…
